In a recently concluded Chinese Super League match, Shanghai Shenhua defeated Wuhan Three Towns 2-0. After the game, Shenhua’s head coach, Leonid Slutsky, gave an interview.
Slutsky: This match was indeed very tough and also quite dramatic. Playing in such hot weather made it very difficult. Today, we seized our opportunities on offense and didn’t give the opponents many chances defensively. Overall, I believe we deserved the victory today.
How is Manafa doing currently?
Slutsky: As for Manafa, we can’t make a definitive assessment yet. He did get injured, but we need to conduct further medical examinations once the team returns to Shanghai.
Coach, you expressed many emotions about the progress of the match. Could you please tell us what specifically you were not satisfied with in this match?
Slutsky: Actually, I don’t have any unhappy thoughts. The weather conditions today were quite severe, so our game tempo was slower than usual. I think my team definitely did not perform at 100% today and didn’t play at a high level, but winning is the most important thing. If we want to become a strong team, there may be some matches that we cannot completely control, but the result must be as we intended. We will certainly do a further review after the match. Sometimes a big win might make me happy, but I am equally satisfied when we can win a match under difficult circumstances like today.
