Gasperini has confirmed that he is close to signing a new contract with Atalanta and will attempt to field Zaniolo as the number 9, eagerly anticipating the Supercup of Europe match against Real Madrid.
Gasperini has decided to stay at Atalanta, where his current contract was due to expire in June 2025, but it is expected that he will agree to a new deal with higher pay at the club.
“I have actually signed the renewal,” Gasperini told Sky Sport Italia. “I’ve been at Atalanta for eight years now. Winning the Europa League got us congratulations from all sides, and after many years, we brought the trophy back to Italy. Now we must prepare for the new season.”
