At midnight on July 16, the summer transfer window for the Chinese Super League (CSL) officially closed.
On social media, the media figure and CSL observer wrote, “This year’s secondary transfer window in the CSL can be called the quietest in history. Only 65 transfer deals were completed among the 16 CSL clubs, with 33 of the player acquisition transactions involving no transfer fees. The loan fee for Dai Weijun, who was loaned from Shenhua to Shenzhen Xin Pengcheng, was 2.5 million RMB, making him the most expensive player in this secondary transfer window. Typically, unless there is a special agreement, if a player is loaned out and the receiving club pays a loan fee, the player’s salary is covered by the lending club. If the receiving club does not pay a loan fee, then the player’s salary is paid by the receiving club, such as the case with Fernandinho, the naturalized player loaned from Luneng to Shenhua.”
