On August 5, in the women’s 10-meter platform diving preliminary at the Paris Olympics, Chinese divers Quan Hongchan and Chen Yuxi competed.
In the first dive, Quan Hongchan secured the lead with a high score of 81; Chen Yuxi was in third place with 73.5 points.
In the second dive, Quan Hongchan once again achieved a high score of 89.60, with a total of 170.60 points placing her in first; Chen Yuxi scored 72.00 points, putting her in second place with a total of 145.40 points.
In the third dive, Quan Hongchan continued to perform steadily, achieving 86.40 points, ranking first with a total of 257 points; Chen Yuxi scored 84.15 points, closely following with a total of 229.65 points.
In the fourth dive, Quan Hongchan again achieved a high score of 87.45 points, continuing to rank first with a total of 344.45 points; Chen Yuxi had a slightly weaker performance this round, scoring 69.30 points, but still ranked second with a total of 298.95 points.
In the fifth dive, Quan Hongchan scored 76.80 points, ranking first with a total of 421.25 points; Chen Yuxi scored 83.20 points, ranking second with a total of 382.15 points. The two advanced to the semifinals together.
