On July 18, according to Spanish media reports, in order to host the 2030 World Cup, the Moroccan Football Federation plans to build the world’s largest football stadium, with a capacity of 115,000 spectators. Construction is scheduled to start in 2024 and be completed by 2028. The stadium will be named “Grand Stade de Casablanca” (Casablanca is the port city of Dar es Salaam, also known as Casablanca, in Morocco).
The 2030 World Cup coincides with the centenary of the World Cup and will be jointly hosted by Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, with Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay serving as co-hosts.
