On July 30, in the men’s 100m backstroke final at the Paris Olympic Games, Chinese swimmer Xu Jiayu swam a time of 52.32 seconds, winning the silver medal.
After the event, Xu Jiayu posted on social media, “Thank you for your encouragement and support. I will continue to give it my all in upcoming competitions. Please keep cheering for the Chinese swimming team. Being a veteran of five Olympics isn’t too unfamiliar to me—Xu Jiayu’s story is still unfolding.”
