The 2024 Cologne Game Show has been confirmed to take place from August 21 to 25 in Germany, with the opening night kicking off on August 20. Host Geoff Keighley recently stated that for the 2024 Cologne Game Show, reserved booth space has increased by 66% compared to last year.
Last year, the Cologne Game Show (Gamescom) held in Cologne, Germany, attracted a record-breaking 320,000 visitors from over 100 countries, a significant increase from the 265,000 attendees the previous year. The event also drew 1,227 exhibitors from leading game companies across 63 countries, with 76% of them being international exhibitors. Additionally, Gamescom 2023 garnered 180 million online views, including 20 million views for the Opening Night Live hosted by Geoff Keighley. It is anticipated that this year’s attendance and the scale of participating exhibitors will further increase.
As one of the largest interactive gaming and entertainment trade fairs globally, the Cologne Game Show was first held in 2009 and quickly grew into a major event in the global gaming industry. It attracts game developers, publishers, media, and players from around the world, covering various fields such as game development, hardware, software, virtual reality, and more. Meanwhile, the Devcom Developer Conference, an integral part of the Cologne Game Show, will cover topics like game development and design, game business and market, social and community issues. Opening Speaker: Renowned game producer Hideo Kojima will deliver a keynote speech on “The Future and Innovation of Gaming.”
Panel Discussion: Annie Delos, Chief Creative Officer of Ubisoft, will join other industry leaders to discuss “The Direction of Open World Gaming.”
Special Lecture: Nick Penwarden, Technical Director of Epic Games, will provide detailed insights into the latest features and application cases of Unreal Engine 5.
