It is reported that Italy’s national team coach, Spalletti, will announce a preliminary squad of 30 to 31 players for the Euros on Thursday, with the final 26-man squad set to be revealed on June 7. Italian Sky Sports has made predictions for the initial list.
In goalkeeping, Donnarumma, Viviano, and Meret are expected to be selected, with Atalanta’s starting goalkeeper Cragno potentially making the preliminary squad to compete with Meret for the third-choice spot.
At the back, Bologna youngster Calafiori could be a surprise inclusion. Damiano, Di Lorenzo, Bastoni, Bonjourno, Mancini, Scalvini, Acerbi are predicted to make the cut. Juventus defender Gatti is a potential reserve option.
In midfield, young Juventus prospect Fagioli is tipped for a call-up following his suspension. Dimarco, Locatelli, Cambiaso Jr., Berardi, Barella, Jorginho, Cristante, Pellegrini, and Frattesi should all secure their spots. Fabian, Florentino, and Bonaventura are additional names in contention.
Up front, Scamacca, Retegui, Sargentini, and Chiesa are considered certain for the Euros. Orsolini, Politano, Zaccagni, Schick, and Udinese’s towering striker Luca will battle for the remaining places.
