On July 14, the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) officially released the “Management Measures for the Chinese Basketball Skill Level Rating System,” aimed at providing a more scientific and standardized guide and rating standards for basketball skills to young people and basketball enthusiasts.
Q5: How can one participate in the basketball skill level rating?
The pilot program has already been launched in Hubei Province. In addition, the CBA will also conduct trials in five other provinces and cities: Shaanxi, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shenzhen (a separately listed city). The basketball associations of these six provinces and cities, as rating management institutions, will organize rating activities in due course.
Meanwhile, the CBA has specially set up a basketball skill level rating section on the China Basketball APP service section. Applicants can consult the rating standards and information about rating institutions here, select an appropriate level, and complete registration following the guidance provided.
Q6: What are the benefits of participating in the basketball skill level rating?
The basketball skill level rating provides all young people and adult basketball enthusiasts with a reference standard to assess their own skill levels. As the rating work progresses, the CBA plans to organize elite basketball training camps corresponding to different levels, offering professional training platforms to young people and adult basketball enthusiasts. At the same time, the CBA will gradually integrate basketball skill level ratings with basketball tournaments, organizing competitions for different skill levels, providing competitive platforms and opportunities for display to young people and adult basketball enthusiasts of varying abilities, making the level rating a bridge for them to pursue a professional path in basketball.
Q7: How is the basketball skill level rating implemented?
Rating institutions are divided into rating management institutions and rating agencies.
Rating Management Institutions: These are core members registered and active through authorization and certification by the CBA (i.e., basketball associations of provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, and separately listed cities).
Rating Agencies: These are unit members that have been reviewed, certified, and publicly disclosed by rating management institutions through the CBA.
The CBA is responsible for supervising and inspecting the rating activities and related events conducted by rating management institutions. Rating management institutions supervise and inspect the rating activities carried out by the rating agencies under their jurisdiction.
Q8: Who completes the basketball skill level rating work?
The rating work is completed by rating examiners. Applicants who pass the basketball skill level rating will receive a basketball skill level certificate corresponding to their level, with certificates managed uniformly by the CBA and rating management institutions.
