At 6:30 AM on July 17, the NBA Summer League continues with a match-up between the Pistons and the Bulls.
The Bulls have played two games in the Summer League so far. They won their first game 96-89 against the Bucks and lost their second game 82-92 to the Warriors. In the last game against the Warriors, this year’s No. 11 draft pick, Bouknight, delivered an impressive performance. He made 10 out of 22 shots, including four three-pointers, scoring 28 points and grabbing 5 rebounds. One particularly violent dunk stunned the crowd. Bouknight is from Lithuania, hailing from the Ignite team of the G-League. Standing at 2.08 meters tall, he is a versatile player who primarily plays as a small forward. His performance in this game will be noteworthy.
From the first two games, besides Bouknight, Sanogo, Phillips, Durrell, Steward, Smart, and others also demonstrated considerable skill. Five players scored in double digits in the first game, and four players did so in the second game. The team’s scoring points are relatively distributed.
The Pistons have also played two games in the Summer League, with a record of 1 win and 1 loss. They lost their first game 81-94 to the 76ers and won their second game 87-73 against the Rockets. In the last game against the Rockets, Jenkins scored 26 points with 3 rebounds and 4 assists, while Clintman scored 18 points with 9 rebounds, both having good performances for two consecutive games.
This year’s No. 5 draft pick, Holland, also comes from the Ignite team. In the G-League regular season, he played 14 games, averaging 33.6 minutes per game, scoring 20.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals. He scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in his first game and did not play in the game against the Rockets. There is a possibility that he will return in this game. If the Ignite derby between him and Bouknight can take place, it would be very interesting.
The rosters for both teams are as follows:
