On July 14, the South China Morning Post reported that the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions Basketball Club will be taking part in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The Hong Kong Eastern men’s basketball team is in talks to participate in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup, which runs from November to early March next year, with their ultimate aim being a spot in China’s top-tier basketball league, the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).
A source from the Hong Kong Eastern men’s basketball team said, “We want to participate in the PBA and the East Asia Super League (EASL), and our ultimate goal remains to join the CBA. We believe it’s a good idea to continue seeking exposure there and compete at the highest level of basketball possible while we await progress on the mainland.”
