On July 15th, according to official news from Ligue 1, the president of Ligue 1 has confirmed that DAZN and beIN Sport will commence broadcasting for the new season of Ligue 1.
It is reported that the president of Ligue 1 convened a meeting on Sunday to study two specific proposals: a joint bid by DAZN and beIN Sports, and a 100% LFP (French Professional Football League) channel bid. After a tense meeting, the top brass of Ligue 1 chose the former.
DAZN will pay 400 million Euros per season for eight out of nine matches per round, while the Qatar-French broadcaster beIN Sports will air one featured match per week, or the second most important match every other round, at a total price of 100 million Euros.
