According to reporter Gibran Araige, Aguirre is confirmed to take the helm of the Mexico national team for the third time, leading the squad in preparation for the CONCACAF World Cup.
Due to poor performance in the recent Copa America, the Mexican Football Federation had previously dismissed head coach Losano.
The 65-year-old Aguirre has already coached the Mexico national team twice before. In the Korea-Japan World Cup, he led the team to a record of two wins and one draw in the group stage, advancing them from the group stage, but they were eliminated in the round of 16 with a 0-2 loss to the United States. By the 2010 World Cup, Aguirre guided Mexico to the knockout stages once again, only to fall short against Argentina with a 1-3 defeat in the round of 16.
