According to a report by well-known journalist David Ornstein from The Athletic, Lille defender Yaro is set to fly to the UK for a medical examination, completing his transfer to Manchester United.
The report states that an agreement between Manchester United and Lille was reached last week, with a transfer fee of €62 million.
It is understood that Yaro initially wanted to join Real Madrid, but there were no signs of Real meeting Lille’s valuation, allowing Manchester United to swoop in and agree terms with Lille.
With only one year remaining on Yaro’s contract with Lille, the French club had no choice but to sell him this summer to recoup funds. The 18-year-old French international believes moving to Manchester United will be a significant step forward in his career.
