On July 17, according to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Saudi Professional League side Al-Nassr is on the verge of signing Brazilian goalkeeper Bento, who currently plays for Athletico Paranaense in Brazil’s Serie A. Here we go!
Bento, aged 25 and standing at 190 cm tall, has made 27 appearances across all competitions for Athletico Paranaense this season, keeping a clean sheet in 14 of those matches. Previously, he was included in Brazil’s national team squad for the Copa America but remained as a backup goalkeeper without getting any playing time.
Per Romano’s report, Al-Nassr has already agreed on terms with Athletico Paranaense for Bento’s transfer, with the fee rumored to be €18 million. Following his medical examination, Bento will officially join the club, signing a contract that runs until 2028.
Previously, there were reports suggesting that Al-Nassr was interested in signing Manchester City’s goalkeeper Ederson, but with the acquisition of Bento, such a transfer now appears unlikely to materialize.
