On July 15th, the Euro Cup final came to a close, with England ultimately falling short against Spain 1-2 and missing out on the championship. After the game, Luke Shaw spoke to the media, stating that he truly believed they could achieve victory but things didn’t go as planned, and he wanted to apologize to the fans.
Luke Shaw said, “I am personally devastated, there’s not much else to say. We really believed we could do it, but unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be.”
“Southgate is proud of what the team and all of us have accomplished, but of course, there isn’t much more for him to say either, as we are all heartbroken.”
“I think we were very confident, and the fans deserve this. I just want to thank them for their support here today, and at the same time, I also want to apologize to them.”
