On June 28, according to journalist Xue Sijia, Chinese basketball player Cui Yongxi is set to sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Portland Trail Blazers.
The original text reads:
Despite not being selected in the NBA Draft, Cui Yongxi expressed in an interview that he would continue his training in the United States to pursue opportunities in the Summer League and a two-way contract. “As long as there’s a chance, I’ll keep going. You can count on that,” he said.
It has been revealed that Cui’s impressive performance during his previous tryouts has caught the attention of the Trail Blazers, who are now considering offering him an Exhibit 10 deal. Best wishes to Young Cui! Keep it up, Young Cui!
Note: An Exhibit 10 contract does not count against the team’s salary cap. Before the regular season starts, a team can convert an Exhibit 10 contract into a two-way contract. NBA teams without a G League affiliate cannot use Exhibit 10 contracts. A team can only sign up to six Exhibit 10 contracts, and they can only be signed once, without renewal options. If a player is waived after signing an Exhibit 10 contract but later joins the team’s G League affiliate and stays for 60 days, they can earn a bonus of $5,000 to $50,000. When an Exhibit 10 contract is converted into a two-way contract by the team, its bonus becomes a fully guaranteed salary.
