Recently, young English talent Meunu of Manchester United made a last-minute entry into the national squad. In an interview with talkSPORT, he discussed his sources of motivation.
Meunu said, “These past few days have been insane – scoring a late winner against Liverpool, then getting called up to the U21s, and now the senior team. It’s crazy. Being part of the 2024 European Championship is an honor, and I’m just happy to have the chance to play.”
“At the club, I must mention the significant help I receive from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro in midfield. Playing alongside them has been invaluable, as they bring so much experience. They’re both great players with fantastic careers, and I learn a lot from them. They always go out of their way to assist me.”
“With the national team, I’m following in the footsteps of Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka, who have risen quickly and established themselves. They’re going to be great players, and their journeys motivate me.”
Speaking about the upcoming match against Brazil, Meunu remarked, “I think everyone is a fan of Ronaldinho, right? He was an exceptional player, and Brazil is a country with a rich football heritage. Playing against such opponents is truly amazing.”
