Formula 1 British Grand Prix Qualifying Report: Russell Claims Pole at Home, Hamilton P2; Zhou, Leclerc Out in Q2

On July 6th, the F1 British Grand Prix qualifying session began. With no rain, drivers started on intermediate tires.

At the end of Q1, Zhou Guanyu of Alfa Romeo advanced to Q2 in 8th place, while his teammate Bottas finished P16 and was eliminated.

Drivers eliminated in Q1: Magnussen (Haas), Ocon (Alpine), Perez (Red Bull), Bottas (Alfa Romeo), Gasly (Alpine)

At the end of Q2, Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu was eliminated, finishing 14th in qualifying. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc also failed to make it into Q3.

In Q3, at the start, Red Bull’s Verstappen suffered damage to his car.

In the end, Mercedes’ Russell secured pole position, with his teammate, seven-time champion Hamilton, taking P2. McLaren’s Norris claimed third, and Red Bull’s Verstappen finished fourth.
