On July 2, according to renowned journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Italian Serie A clubs Parma and Genoa are negotiating with Japanese goalkeeper Suzuki Ayaka.
As per Di Marzio’s report, Parma appreciates Suzuki’s ball-playing abilities and has already initiated discussions with the player regarding the terms of the deal, aiming to secure her signature swiftly. Last season, Parma won the Serie B championship and secured promotion to the top flight. They are now reinforcing their squad to stay competitive in Serie A.
It is understood that besides Parma, Genoa also holds an interest in Suzuki. With goalkeeper Martinez on the verge of joining Inter Milan, Genoa’s management is actively seeking a replacement, and “Japanese Onana” has emerged as a target for their transfer plans.
Notably, Suzuki Ayaka, a 21-year-old Japanese goalkeeper, is known for her resemblance to Manchester United’s goalkeeper Onana, hence the nickname “Japanese Onana.” She was on loan at Sint-Truiden last season and her consistent performances led to a permanent transfer from Urawa Red Diamonds.
