According to former Belgian national team doctor, Lieven Maesschalck, Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne’s recent injuries should not hinder his performance at the upcoming UEFA European Championship.
“He has an issue with his adductor muscle, which is different from the hamstring injury he had earlier this year. This shows that he still needs time to adapt after being out for a while. Suddenly playing high-intensity matches isn’t ideal,” Maesschalck analyzed.
“Fortunately, Kevin signaled when he was overloading physically, so he’s had ample rest and recovery over the past few months, allowing him to return to peak condition.”
Maesschalck is confident that De Bruyne will be fit and ready for the Euros: “Will we see the best of De Bruyne at the Euros? Absolutely, as long as he avoids any further setbacks, he will make a significant impact in the tournament.”
