On July 3, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest announced that former player Jeff Whitefoot has passed away at the age of 90.
In April 1950, at 16 years and 105 days old, English U23 defender Whitefoot became Manchester United’s youngest ever league debutant. Whitefoot won the FA Cup with Nottingham Forest in 1959.
Manchester United said in a statement: “In the mid-1950s, few in England could pass the ball with more accuracy and precision than Jeff. Rest in peace.”
Nottingham Forest also released a statement: The club is deeply saddened by the passing of Jeff Whitefoot at the age of 90. Jeff spent nine years at City Ground from 1958 to 1967 and was the last surviving member of the Forest team that won the FA Cup in 1959. Our thoughts are with Jeff’s family, friends, and everyone who knew him.
