On July 5th, Melbourne Victory announced the signing of free agent Piero Piscopo on a two-year contract.
The 26-year-old, who came through Inter Milan’s youth system, plays as a left winger and can also operate as an attacking midfielder. He has previously played for Renate, Wellington Phoenix, and Newcastle Jets, amassing 90 appearances in the A-League, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists.
Piscopo’s contract with the Jets expired at the end of June, making him a free agent.
The Italian-born player was a regular for Italy’s U15 to U17 teams but opted to represent Australia’s U23 squad. As of now, he has not received a call-up to the senior national team.
