July 2 – According to a report from The Athletic’s journalist, Argentine superstar Lionel Messi has resumed full training with his teammates and participated in all training sessions on Monday local time. However, it is still uncertain whether he will feature in Argentina’s Copa América match on July 5.
It is understood that Messi had missed six MLS games and two friendlies earlier this season due to muscle injuries, leading both his club and the national team to continue managing his playing time.
The Argentine national team has so far maintained a perfect winning record in the Copa América, defeating Canada, Peru, and Chile without conceding a single goal. In the two matches Messi played, he did not score but provided one assist.
On July 5 at 09:00, the defending champions Argentina will face Ecuador in the quarterfinals of the Copa América, with the winner advancing to the semifinals.
