At 3:00 AM on July 6th, the quarterfinal match between Portugal and France in the UEFA Euro Cup will kick off at the Volksparkstadion in Hamburg. Ahead of the game, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo interviewed some Portuguese fans attending the match to share their thoughts.
Domingos Miranda, a Portuguese fan from Porto, has traveled to Hamburg with his wife and two children to watch the Portugal vs France showdown.
Regarding the match, he commented, “I believe Portugal can secure the victory; we have no other choice because it’s too early for us to go home. It’ll be a tough game, but Ronaldo will score and lead us to triumph. We’re not afraid of Mbappe.”
Another Portuguese fan expressed, “We will win, of course, we are not scared of France. We will reach the semifinals, then the final, and eventually celebrate the championship in Berlin, just like in 2016.”
A German fan present at the scene, wearing a Kroos jersey, said, “Firstly, I hope Germany beats Spain, and then I also wish Portugal progresses, mainly because of Ronaldo. A Germany vs Portugal match would be a dream fixture, but of course, when that happens, I’ll support Germany 100%.”
