On June 29, Bild reported that German internationals have voluntarily donated their qualification bonuses to a charitable cause.
It is understood that the German team advanced to the knockout stage as group winners, entitling each player to a €50,000 bonus. Furthermore, the German Football Association (DFB) has introduced additional bonus criteria.
“Advancing to the quarter-finals earns each player €100,000; to the semi-finals, €150,000; to the final, €250,000; and winning the European Championship, €400,000.” These record-breaking bonus provisions are expected to fuel the German players’ determination.
Notably, what the DFB is particularly proud of is that the players have also chosen to donate their bonuses to a charity supporting the homeless, showcasing both excellent sportsmanship and character. The German team, known for their fighting spirit on the pitch, also inspire off it.
