On June 29, according to French RMC Sport, winger Kingsley Coman will temporarily depart from the French national team’s training base in Paderborn, Germany, to travel to Sweden, as his girlfriend is due to give birth to their fourth child.
After three group stage matches, Coman featured for only 20 minutes as a substitute in France’s goalless draw with the Netherlands. Despite Ousmane Dembélé’s lack of impact for the French team, Coman’s fitness was not deemed sufficient for the demands of the UEFA European Championship. L’Équipe previously reported that Coman had confided in the team’s medical staff that he currently struggles to even start a reserve team match.
As Coman’s partner is about to give birth to their fourth child, the French coaching staff have kindly allowed him to be present for this significant personal milestone. According to RMC Sport, Coman will promptly return to Germany and head to Düsseldorf, where France will face Belgium in the Round of 16 encounter.
